1 before you start
If you recently became a cat owner, this is an advantage to get rid of kitten fur care immediately as it makes everything much easier. If your case, your cat is not used to being brushed, but there is a problem with the coat knot and filter, contact your veterinarian. Your veterinarian will be able to cut the hair filter and knot from the coat in a gentle way. You will experience a greater well-being in your cat while you will have the opportunity to start over with good fur care.
No matter what your situation is, it doesn’t make sense to wait until the cat is calm and relaxed. If your cat seems uncomfortable with being brushed, you can start with caressing. If you do this, your cat’s tolerance will increase and you can gradually move into fur care. Finally, remember to reward your cat with praise and treatment, and then think of “hairdig time” as something good and positive.
2 Daily fur care
When you hug your cat every day, you can usefully make your fingers feel coated through filters and knots. If the coat feels light, airy and soft, you don’t need to do anything further. If the coating is matte, you should immediately comb it out with a wide-tooth comb to prevent knots. If you encounter a knot, it is important that you do not move your cat in fur because it is very uncomfortable and painful. Instead, tie the knot.
3 Weekly fur care
Several times a week, you should brush or comb your cat’s fur more thoroughly. Use special brushes for cats, called bathtubs, where teeth are covered in soft rubber. You can start at the cat’s favorite place – usually the chin and head – and continue with the rest of your body.
Brushing your teeth regularly helps keep your cat cleaner and healthier. You have a better chance of checking your cat for lice, fleas or injuries that otherwise you will ignore. Your cat will also swallow less hair, which means you get rid of one of the worst sounds the cat can make – vomiting hairballs.
4 Fur Care of the Year
You may think that the cat itself must clean his fur, but it may be necessary and also beneficial to bathe your cat. There is no need to bathe the cat once a year as it interferes with the cat’s natural balance of oil in the skin and fur.
Before bathing the cat, make sure the coat is filter-free, as water pulls the coat together, which only exacerbates the problem. Always use shampoo and conditioner designed for cats and make sure the room and water are nice and comfortable.
